CZ DUTY 4.0 F

About this product
Range builders who finish their own frames still want one pistol that is done the day it arrives. CZ built the DUTY 4.0 for that job: a striker-fired 9x19mm with a serialized internal chassis, a fiberglass-reinforced polymer grip frame and a 4-inch barrel that is not threaded. Because the chassis carries the serial number, the grip frame is a modular part, which is a design idea anyone who works with polymer frames will recognize right away.
Pick the C compact for 15+1 rounds (17+1 with the extended base plate) at 770 g and 135 mm tall, or the F full-size for 17+1 (19+1 extended) at 780 g and 143 mm tall. Both share the 188 mm overall length, 33 mm width, fixed sights and a direct-mount optics-ready slide. MS versions add a manual thumb safety on top of the firing pin block, trigger safety and trigger bar safety. The refined SFDA trigger breaks at about 5.6 lbs with a 4 mm reset. MSRP is $729.
This is the longer grip of the two DUTY frames. It holds 17+1 rounds, 19+1 with the extended plate, stands 143 mm (5.6 in) and weighs 780 g (27.7 oz) unloaded. Same slide, same 4-inch barrel as the short-grip, so the sight radius is identical; you buy the F for the grip and the extra rounds.
There is no manual thumb safety on this model. Drop safety comes from the firing pin block, the trigger safety and the trigger-bar safety, the way most modern striker-action pistols are set up. If you want a thumb lever, the MS version has one.
Three things define the DUTY 4.0. First, a registered modular chassis: the registered part is inside, the frame module around it is modular. Second, the trigger, a striker SFDA rated at 25 ± 4 N (5.6 ± 0.9 lbs), 4 mm (0.16 in) reset, 9 ± 1 mm (0.4 ± 0.04 in) travel, which is short and repeatable for a service pistol. Third, a direct-mount optics-ready slide, shown by CZ with Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield dots fitted, so a optic sits low without a stack of plates.
Best fit: home defense, duty use, competition and long range sessions where the extra grip and two more rounds matter. Shooters coming from a CZ 75 will recognize the grip angle; owners coming from any other striker gun will notice the trigger first.
Every DUTY 4.0 sold here is a serialized firearm, so it ships to the FFL dealer you pick at checkout rather than to your door. Your dealer runs the required paperwork and applies the rules of your state when you come in to collect it. If you are not sure which local dealer to use, choose one before you order so the transfer goes smoothly. Frames, lowers and parts from our bundles still ship direct.

Frequently asked questions
- Does the DUTY 4.0 come ready for a red dot?
- The slide is cut for direct mounting, and CZ's own photos show Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield red dots fitted. Fixed iron sights are installed from the factory.
- Which part of the DUTY 4.0 carries the serial number?
- The internal chassis is the serialized part. That is why the polymer grip frame is modular, and it is also why the pistol must transfer through an FFL dealer.
- How many rounds does the CZ DUTY 4.0 F hold?
- 17+1 with the standard magazine and 19+1 with the extended base plate.
- Can I put a red dot on it?
- Yes. The slide is optics-ready with direct mounting; CZ's photos show Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield dots fitted.
